Melanie Foxx, Esq.

Associate Attorney

Attorney Melanie Foxx represents clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, and alimony.

Specialized Experience as a Licensed Social Worker

Before becoming a lawyer, Attorney Foxx earned her Master of Social Work degree from New York University Silver School of Social Work. As a social worker, Attorney Foxx first focused her work on palliative and hospice care. She did so both in the hospital setting and through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. She later worked as a Clinical Social Worker, providing oncology care for breast cancer patients.

During this time, Attorney Foxx developed critical skills–in the areas of client interviewing, problem-solving, and advocacy, among others–that are transferable to her work as a lawyer.

Compassionate Counsel & Unwavering Advocacy

Attorney Foxx’s time as a practicing clinical social worker inspired her present career in the law. She became a family law attorney after realizing that she enjoyed advocating on behalf of others, especially those navigating difficult circumstances. In each of her cases, she aims to help her clients feel heard and offer practical and sound advice during emotional and challenging times.

Her exceptional ability to compassionately communicate with her clients–coupled with her legal experience as a divorce and family law litigator–ensures that Attorney Foxx is a strong and unwavering advocate. She crafts legally sound case strategies that reflect her client’s goals and protect their interests while maximizing case results.

Turco Legal “Justice for All Program” Attorney

Attorney Foxx provides legal representation through Turco Legal’s “Justice for All Program” as part of her caseload. At Turco Legal, we know that family law cases often deal with the most important issues in people’s lives. Yet about 80% of those in family court proceed without legal representation simply because they cannot afford it. To help address this need, we offer reduced-fee legal services to eligible clients through our “Justice for All Program”–thus ensuring that more people have access to quality legal services.

Attorney Foxx’s perspective and experience align with the “Justice for All Program” mission. She brings a passion for justice and a sense of care and understanding to every “Justice for All” case.

Notable Academic Achievements & Family Law Clinical Experience

Attorney Foxx’s time as a New England Law | Boston (“NESL”) student was marked by remarkable academic achievements. While at NESL, Attorney Foxx consistently earned the Dean’s List recognition. She also earned other academic honors, such as the New England Scholar Award and the New England Law Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award. Moreover, Attorney Foxx participated in the prestigious Sandra Day O’Connor Honors Program.

Seeking practical and hands-on experience, Attorney Foxx also gained experience in family law work as a law student. Through the New England Law | Boston Clinical Law Office, she represented clients as a Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3:03 student attorney. Rule 3:03 permits eligible law students to appear in certain legal proceedings under the supervision of a Massachusetts bar member. Attorney Foxx worked with a supervising attorney on various family law cases involving issues of divorce, child custody, and child support. This work enabled her to hone her client-relationship and legal analysis abilities.
