Shannon Rand, Esq.
Attorney Shannon Rand has practiced law since 1999. She graduated from Northeastern University School of Law and is a practicing family law attorney. Attorney Rand primary focuses her practice on divorce and custody matters, as well as child support cases. Attorney Rand has extensive experience dealing with emotionally-charged, stressful situations. She has a stellar reputation with the Essex County probate and family judges as a fair and reasonable attorney, having appeared before them hundreds of times. She prides herself on always being a professional, regardless of how highly contested the issues may be. Prior to joining the Turco Legal team, Attorney Rand was an attorney for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 11 years. Through her work with the Commonwealth, she handled thousands of paternity and child support cases for the Department of Revenue, Child Support Enforcement Division. Attorney Rand was successful in securing substantial retroactive payments for custodial parents that had not received support for years. Similarly, she demonstrated strong enforcement skills, resulting in the payment of thousands of dollars of child support arrears. She also assisted non-custodial parents with reducing their child support orders due to injury or disability.
Before her position with the Department of Revenue, Attorney Rand practiced law for a private firm in Rhode Island. In that role, she represented local hospitals for several years and handled medical malpractice cases. Additionally, at the outset of her career, Attorney Rand worked for legal services agencies in Massachusetts. Through this work, she primarily represented victims of domestic violence in divorce and custody matters, as well as restraining order proceedings. Notably, Attorney Rand also worked on a pivotal class action lawsuit against the MBTA for violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Active in the Community
In addition to her client advocacy, Attorney Rand is an active member of Essex County. Furthermore, her work as an attorney for the state has resulted in numerous contacts within the courts, the Sheriff’s Department and local public service agencies. She has also become a resource on support for the firm and the local legal community.
