Amanda Gnau represents clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child support, custody, alimony, marital asset division, paternity, and guardianship. She also manages contempt and modification actions.

 

Exceptional Legal Writer and Researcher

Attorney Gnau previously clerked for the Honorable Thomas J. Barbar of the Middlesex Probate & Family Court. As a Judicial Law Clerk, Attorney Gnau assisted in the drafting of judgments, findings, rationale, and orders in divorce, modification, and contempt matters. This prestigious opportunity enabled Attorney Gnau to develop skills transferable to her law practice today.

Through her clerkship, Attorney Gnau refined her legal research and writing skills, as well as her analytical abilities. In her present-day practice, she has been able to draw upon that experience when drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement proposals, separation agreements, and the like. Attorney Gnau’s judicial clerkship experience also exposed her to a variety of family law issues and gave her a deep understanding of probate court procedures and the family law litigation process.

Throughout her academic career, Attorney Gnau was consistently recognized for her stellar academic achievements. Attorney Gnau graduated cum laude from New England Law | Boston. During her time there, she earned her spot on the Dean’s List every semester. She also received numerous academic honors, including the New England Scholar Award and the Dean’s Award. The Dean’s Award is given to one student per graduating class as selected by the Dean. Attorney Gnau additionally received multiple CALI Awards–for her Divorce Practice, Contracts II, and Land Use courses. CALI Awards are given only to the student with the highest grade in the class. Attorney Gnau was also a Sandra Day O’Connor Scholar throughout law school. This honor recognizes the top 15% of the class.

Before law school, Attorney Gnau graduated Magna Cum Laude from Endicott College. Much like her experience at New England Law | Boston, Attorney Gnau often earned her spot on the Dean’s List. She also received the Humanities Awards and authored a self-published novel for her senior thesis. Attorney Gnau’s perseverance and intelligence not only propelled her distinguished academic record but also serve her well in her legal practice today.
