What Our JFA Clients Are Saying

“not only a fierce advocate but also a true partner in the process…”

Working with Nicoletta Longo and the team at Turco Legal has been an outstanding experience. Nicoletta is an exceptional attorney—sharp, strategic, and deeply compassionate. From the start, she brought clarity to a complicated process and offered steadfast support through every step of my case.

What sets Turco Legal apart is their team’s unique perspective—many have backgrounds in social work or advocacy, which brings empathy and insight to their legal practice. They are tireless advocates for women, children, and families navigating a system that can often feel overwhelming and inaccessible.

Nicoletta combines her strong legal skills with a rare level of care and integrity. She is not only a fierce advocate but also a true partner in the process, ensuring I felt heard, empowered, and supported at every turn. I wholeheartedly recommend Nicoletta Longo and Turco Legal to anyone seeking outstanding family law representation.

“they care about their clients and it shows…”

I had Tailayah represent me in my child custody case and she is truly the best. This law firm really knows what they’re doing and I would recommend them to anybody over and over again. Their prices can’t be beat compared to other law firms. They care about their clients and it shows.

“Restored my faith in the Legal System…”

I can’t say enough about attorney Meenah Keenan at Turco Legal. As a survivor of extreme domestic violence, I’ve worked with many legal professionals, but Meenah is by far the best. Her preparation, attention to detail, and ability to stay calm under pressure are impeccable. She gave my story a voice and made me feel safe and protected. I am highly grateful to Meenah and the vital “Justice for All” program.

How the JFA Program Works

Experienced Family Law Representation: Justice for All clients are primarily represented by our associate attorneys, all of whom practice exclusively in family law. Every attorney works as part of a collaborative legal team with guidance from experienced Partners and Senior Attorneys and support from skilled paralegals and legal assistants. This collaborative approach ensures every client benefits from the firm’s collective experience while receiving cost-effective representation.

Reduced Hourly Rates: Clients accepted into the Justice for All Program receive substantially reduced hourly rates based on their assigned Justice for All tier and the experience level of the legal professional performing the work. Your rates will be explained during your consultation and outlined in your retainer agreement before representation begins.

Limited Assistance Representation: The Justice for All Program is offered through Limited Assistance Representation (LAR), allowing us to provide experienced legal guidance while helping keep costs affordable. Most clients choose to have their attorney handle nearly all substantive legal work while they assist with document gathering and other aspects of their case.

Transparent Weekly Billing: Justice for All clients receive detailed weekly billing statements identifying the work performed, who performed it, and the associated fees and expenses. We generally maintain a smaller trust retainer while processing weekly payments for services as they are performed, providing transparency and helping clients stay current with their legal fees.

Eligibility: We use a proprietary eligibility calculator to evaluate household income, estate resources, and other financial information. We also consider your overall financial resources, available sources of funding, the complexity of your case, and the level of attorney experience it is likely to require. Every application is individually reviewed by one of our attorneys following your consultation to determine whether the Justice for All Program is an appropriate fit for both you and your legal matter.

Why We Offer This

Access to Justice: Every day, family courts are filled with individuals representing themselves because they simply cannot afford traditional attorney fees. Yet these cases often involve children, homes, financial security, retirement accounts, and relationships that will shape their lives. We believe access to experienced legal counsel should not depend solely on a person’s financial resources.

The Justice Gap: Studies consistently show that a substantial majority of people facing civil legal issues receive little or no legal representation because they cannot afford it. Family law is no exception. Too many people navigate one of life’s most important legal proceedings without the guidance of an attorney. The Justice for All Program was created to help narrow that gap by making experienced legal representation available to more families.

High-Quality Representation at Reduced Rates: The Justice for All Program is not about providing “discount” legal services. It delivers the same professionalism, preparation, and commitment every Turco Legal client deserves through a collaborative team and Limited Assistance Representation. Our goal is to make family law representation accessible while maintaining high standards upon which our firm has been built.

Built for Long-Term Sustainability: We designed the Justice for All Program to be sustainable rather than temporary. By combining a collaborative legal team, efficient technology, streamlined administrative systems, and Limited Assistance Representation, we can expand access to legal services while continuing to provide exceptional representation for all clients.

Part of Our Mission: The Justice for All Program reflects who we are as a firm. We believe lawyers have a responsibility not only to serve those who can easily afford legal representation, but also to find innovative ways to help those who otherwise might face the legal system alone. Helping families navigate difficult transitions with dignity, compassion, and experienced legal guidance is central to our mission.

Justice for All Program FAQs

Will I need to pay a retainer?

Yes. You’ll pay a retainer between $1,000 and $1,500. Importantly, this is not the last payment you’ll pay. We’ll hold this retainer in our attorney trust account, called an IOLTA, until our representation of you has concluded. You’ll additional for paying your attorney’s fees and costs each week as they accrue.

How much time will I have to pay my bill each week?

The payments are due immediately upon receipt of your statement. We run statements and payments each week, typically on Fridays. You’ll receive a draft statement in the morning, followed by a charge to your payment method for the amount of fees and costs which accrued since the last billing. If your payment method fails, we’ll apply your retainer, and you’ll have two days to resolve the issue. If not resolved in that time frame, we’ll close your file and refund any remaining funds you have in trust.

Do you offer payment plans?

No. We do not offer payment plans, but our merchant service provider, LawPay, offers a Pay Later option, which requires a separate application and, if accepted, payment terms. We cannot accept your case until we have a payment method on file that can be charged as the case proceeds, which is not possible with the Pay Later option. You may use it for your initial payment, but we’ll need a different payment method before your case can be onboarded.

Can you have the court order the other party to pay my fees?

Maybe. Obtaining attorney’s fees and costs from the other party in a case is sometimes possible but obtaining them is almost always uncertain. For this reason, you’ll need to secure your own source of funding to pay your fees, but it may make sense for us to ask the court for fees from the other party depending on the case type and facts.

Can I hire you right before a court hearing or other case event?

Probably not. It takes time to get up to speed on your case and we’re also regularly in court on our existing cases, so there may be a scheduling conflict if you try to engage us at the last moment.

How much is this going to cost in total?

That’s a great question but a difficult question to answer. The matter won’t resolve fully until we either settle the entirety of the issues in an agreement accepted by the court, or until you go to trial and receive a judgment. There is an enormous range of how much work will be required of the attorney in family law cases and, even when the hourly rate is significantly reduced, it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to accurate estimate the total cost.

What can I do to keep my costs down?

Great question. Here are a few reliable ways to keep your costs down:

  • Be as efficient as possible.
  • Be organized.
  • Keep your communications concise.
  • Be reasonable and willing to compromise. Rarely does anyone receive everything they want.
  • Try to work things out directly with the other party, when reasonably possible.
  • Follow the direction of your attorney.
If I am not eligible, can I still hire Turco Legal?

Yes. Turco Legal has an experienced team of divorce attorneys and family law lawyers, the majority of which have over 15 to 30 years of experience. While we’re very proud of our Justice for All program, the substantial majority of our clients engage the firm for full representation with our senior attorney team.
