Putting Families First: Compassionate Advocacy in Family Law
Attorney Kirkpatrick’s commitment to family law took root at a young age, inspired by the opportunity to guide and support families through some of life’s most challenging moments. Her exposure to this work began during her undergraduate studies, when she interned with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in the Sex Crimes Division—a formative experience that deepened her commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals with dignity and care. Since then, she has dedicated herself to providing thoughtful, informed, and supportive representation rooted in clear communication and respectful, client-centered advocacy. Allison approaches each matter with insight, compassion, and a steady strategic focus, helping clients move through challenging transitions with confidence and understanding.
Academic Foundations and Student Leadership
At the University of Connecticut School of Law, Allison Kirkpatrick honed her interest in family law, serving as vice president and then president of the Family Law Association. Allison gained valuable skills and experience in her courses, including Family Law, Reproductive Health and Technology, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Trial Advocacy, and participation in the Child Advocacy Clinic. She served as membership editor of the CT Public Interest Law Journal and competed in multiple negotiation and mock trial programs, winning the Mock Trial Society Blumberg Tournament. She served as a mentor for the Women’s Law Student Association and was a leader in various other activities in law school.
Family-Focused Legal Experience
During law school, Allison clerked at a family law firm in Springfield, MA, where she deepened her understanding of family law practice and gained valuable exposure to client strategy, mediation, and complex legal research. Allison also worked as a paralegal for a solo practitioner in family law, strengthening her strong communication and organizational abilities while supporting clients through sensitive matters. Allison’s earlier legal experience—including with the Connecticut Division of Public Defender Services and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Sex Crimes Division—gave her formative experience in child protection and victim advocacy work, helping to shape her commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
Turco Legal’s “Justice for All Program”
Allison’s caseload includes matters handled through Turco Legal’s “Justice for All Program.” At Turco Legal, we understand that family law challenges deeply affect the emotional, financial, and relational stability of individuals and their children, yet the high cost of legal representation leaves nearly 80% of family court litigants to navigate complex issues without support. Through the “Justice for All Program,” our firm provides reduced-fee legal services to eligible clients, expanding access to high-quality representation during life’s most difficult transitions. Allison is committed to advancing this mission by delivering thoughtful, effective, and compassionate advocacy to every JFA client she serves.
